I love Pine Resin Salve because of its lovely fragrance without any added essential oils.
 
A wonderful addition to the home medicine chest for use on sore and irritated skin, cracked skin, and mild burns.  Apply it to cuts and scrapes to take advantage of its antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, or as a warming rub for sore muscles and joints.  Pine resin salve is also a soothing chest rub if you are feeling congested, and has wonderful circulation properties.  I liken it to a hug or healing kiss from mother earth.
 
When you are in the forest and see resin, you are seeing a healing and protective measure where the tree is wounded.

Harvesting (gently and with proper methods) of pine resin immediately connects you with its medicinal and spiritual energies. It is a form of plant spirit medicine that nourishes the soul and a feeling of stepping into the lineage of healers and wisdom-keepers. Working with pine resin is also a wonderful way to ruin kitchen pots (which I did) when learning the secrets of its melting.
 
Bonus:  pine resin is very flammable and the salve makes a great fire starter when spread onto cotton wool or a cotton ball.  My son will attest to this :)
